Hi there!  My name is Leah! I am a wife, wellness coach, dogmom and foodie. I enjoy getting creative in the kitchen and showing women they can still enjoy food while on their health journey. I hope to inspire as many people as I can through my own health transformation.

A little about my journey…..

My 3rd wedding anniversary (June 18, 2014) was a huge turning point for me. While joking around with my husband, I decided it would be fun to try on my wedding dress. I was devastated when it didn’t fit. I was so disappointed that I had let my health go for the past three years. Those days of not having anything to wear and feeling self-conscious in my own skin had taken it’s toll on my self-esteem, marriage, friendships, etc. I decided to do something about it. I had remembered a friend posting on Facebook that she was a health and fitness coach, running these “challenge groups.” So I inquired and decided to give the 21 Day Fix at-home workout program a go. I was feeling a little skeptical, as I had tried other weight-loss programs in the past, and nothing seemed to work. I always thought my struggle with weight-loss was due to my under active thyroid condition.

Just 21 days after starting the program, I was down FIFTEEN POUNDS! I was so pleased with my results that I felt a strong desire to help others do the same thing.

Now I am a health and fitness coach, running my own weight-loss challenge groups. I love helping others learn about clean eating and what it can do for your body. It’s not a “diet”, it’s a lifestyle change, and it really works! A clean diet, portion control and daily exercise can do AMAZING things for anyone! I never in a million years thought it would take until I was in my 30’s to get in the best shape of my life! It’s never too late to become a fitter, healthier person!

MY COACHING TRANSFORMATION

When I signed up as a coach in June of 2014, I’ll be honest…I did it for the 25% discount! At that time I did not think I was someone who could be inspiring, since I had so long to go on my own health journey. But what I found was that there is no perfect weight, shape or size to inspire someone else to make healthy changes!

Within a WEEK of starting my fitness program, friends and family were asking what I was doing because I was showing not only physical changes, but emotional ones too! I decided to start running my own online bootcamps to help support those looking to make changes. At that time I had no experience in social media, rarely used it at all, I had zero marketing or business background. But what I had were RESULTS and a knowledge for what worked for me AND a hunger for more out of life.

Since becoming a coach, our lives have changed so much! We went from broke newlyweds, drowning in student loan debt, never taking a vacation and always working 2-3 jobs at a time just to make ends meet, to THRIVING financially. Coaching has allowed my husband and I to pay off ALL of our student loan debt (we are talking over $60k!) in just around 5 years. We moved into and renovated our dream home in the country, and we FINALLY started saving for our retirement. None of this would have been possible living off of two teachers incomes.

I am beyond excited to give you more details on what exactly it takes to be a successful coach, and to help you realize that there is MORE to life than just punching a time clock and struggling to make ends meet. And DON’T WORRY-I had many misconceptions about what a coach needs to be or actually does:

  • You do not need to be a fitness or nutrition expert.

  • You do not need to be at your goal weight OR wait until you get there to start coaching.

  • You do not need to have a large social media network (but you DO need to be willing to grow what you have and use social media to build you biz).

  • You do not have to be pushy or salesy.

  • You do not have to be an outgoing social butterfly

  • You do not need to care what others will think of you (after all they DO NOT pay your bills or walk in your shoes).

  • You DO need to set aside time to work your biz, if it required zero effort everyone would be doing it.

  • You DO need to have an open mind and a willingness to LEARN.

  • You DO need to be self-motivated.

  • You DO need to want to help others.

  • You DO need to be willing to work on yourself (mind+body+spirit)
